Pepsi Cricket Night is a popular night cricket tournament held during Ramzan for Pepsi's youth audience who play cricket after dark. Convex Interactive built a registration and tournament management platform that lets team captains register squads, get matched with opponents, and progress through rounds, while giving Pepsi's internal team full visibility into the competition.
Problem
Running a large-scale night cricket tournament during Ramzan meant Pepsi needed a reliable way to onboard teams, verify participants, and manage progress at scale, while keeping sign-up simple for young players. Manually tracking registrations, matches, and results across the tournament would have been error-prone and difficult to manage.
Solution
A platform where captains register their team and player details, verified via OTP for accuracy. Teams are then matched to play, and winners automatically advance through the rounds. Pepsi's team has full backend visibility into matches, schedules, and results at every stage.
Process
We began by understanding the tournament structure, from registration through the final winner, and the visibility Pepsi needed throughout. We built the captain registration flow with OTP validation, matching logic to pair teams, and a progression system to advance winners.
After that, we created a backend dashboard that provided Pepsi's team with live updates on matches, schedules, and results. Additionally, the platform was tested with sample scenarios before going live, with support provided each night.

The platform gave Pepsi a smooth, reliable way to run Cricket Night at scale, from registration through the final match.
