Overview
Peek Freans aimed to boost offline sales, grow its social community, and become the first in its industry to launch a dedicated WhatsApp Channel. Convex Interactive built the "JOIN & WIN" campaign, featuring an interactive WhatsApp bot that turned hidden snack-pack codes into daily Samsung Tablet giveaways nationwide.
Problem
Peek Freans needed a highly engaging way to drive offline sales while growing its digital community, but lacked an industry-first channel to capture and validate mass participation at scale. Without an automated system, manually verifying thousands of daily codes and managing winner selection would be slow and unmanageable.
Solution
We built a WhatsApp bot that collected codes consumers found hidden inside Peek Freans snack packs, instantly validated each entry, provided real-time feedback, and redirected participants to join the brand's new WhatsApp Channel and Facebook community for ongoing engagement.
Process
We designed the "JOIN & WIN" mechanic around a single consumer action: find the hidden code inside any Peek Freans snack pack and send it via WhatsApp to a dedicated number. The bot instantly validated each submission, confirming eligibility for the daily draw, in which three lucky winners received a Samsung Tablet each day for 30 straight days.
Eligible participants were then redirected to join the brand's newly launched WhatsApp Channel and Facebook community, extending engagement well beyond the entry.
Result
The campaign generated 316,958 valid entries and 163,022 unique participants, growing the WhatsApp Channel to 41,000 members in just 41 days and delivering 2.5x higher engagement than the brand's existing Meta community. The bot converted 14% of participants into channel members, saving Peek Freans an estimated $60,000 per month in broadcast costs.
