Solution
We integrated WhatsApp as the primary channel for OTP and recovery messages via Verito, with an automatic SMS fallback when WhatsApp delivery failed. This approach ensured consistent delivery, reduced authentication friction, and improved overall platform accessibility for users.
Process
We started by integrating WhatsApp messaging APIs via Verito to manage OTP and recovery flows, with messages sent immediately upon login and registration. We then added a fallback mechanism to automatically switch to SMS whenever WhatsApp delivery failed.
